In 1989 Prairielane Farms Ltd. celebrated 100 years under the operation of the Canning Family. Blaine and Pauline along with their son Michael who represents the 5th generation own and operate this proudly Canadian family farm. The Cannings family farm consists of 4000 acres, 1000 of which is cropped to oilseeds and grain. The remainder is either used for forage or pasture. The breeding herd currently consists of 280 breeding females of which approximately one third are red and two thirds are black. The breeding season is limited to 63 days and the herd has remained closed with new bloodlines introduced by artificial insemination.

30 Years of Proven Angus Sales! Many of Prairielanes Sires are in the top 1% for both weaning and yearling weights using the E.P.D percentile tables generated by the Canadian Angus Association. Prairielanes Spring Bull and Female Sale of Proven Angus is held in April each year on the farm. The 2008 sale marked Prairielanes 30th Annual Sale.
