Welcome to Prairielane Farms!

In 1989 Prairielane Farms Ltd. celebrated 100 years under the operation of the Canning Family. Blaine and Pauline along with their son Michael who represents the 5th generation own and operate this proudly Canadian family farm.

The Canning’s family farm consists of 4000 acres, 1000 of which is cropped to oilseeds and grain. The remainder is either used for forage or pasture. The breeding herd currently consists of 280 breeding females. The breeding season is limited to 63 days and the herd has remained closed with new bloodlines introduced by artificial insemination.

We have been raising quality Angus for over 88 years, paying strict attention to performance total herd testing. Our balanced breeding program pays special attention to structural soundness resulting in cattle that are recognized and excell internationally.

30th Annual Bull and Female Proven Angus Sale

32 Years of Proven Angus Sales!

Many of Prairielane’s Sires are in the top 1% for both weaning and yearling weights using the E.P.D percentile tables generated by the Canadian Angus Association. Prairielane’s Spring Bull and Female Sale of Proven Angus is held in April each year on the farm. The 2010 sale marks Prairielane’s 32nd Annual Sale.
